Tommy is an actor and artist living and working in Brooklyn. He was born in Wisconsin and grew up an hour southwest of Chicago. After receiving his B.A. in Theatre Performance in Madison, WI, he brought the blue collar, “Midwest charm” out east and has been happy to call NYC home ever since.
He has worked Off-Broadway, Off-Off Broadway and Regionally. He has trained in New York City at The Atlantic Theatre Company-Acting School, specifically in the Practical Aesthetics Method, as well as Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in basic Improvisation. Some of his notable New York theatre credits include Kerry Max Cook in The Exonerated, William H. Willis in Split Second and Willie Lynch in The MAAFA: A Healing Journey. As an actor he gravitates towards more contemporary scripts but he enjoys performing a period piece as well. Due to his 6’ 6” frame he is often cast as the antagonist, but is always eager to play the good guy protagonist or the ever so important supporting roles. You can see his antagonistic work in his most recent film credits as Markson in Iridescence & Jeffrey in The Dinner Party. Clips from both available in his reel.
While comedy was his first love, most of his recent performances have been drama and psychological thrillers. He hopes to continue to do a mix of both over his career. The most important thing to him is telling stories that resonate with the complexities of everyday life. The ups and downs, the laughs and the cries, & everything in between. No matter the role, whether on stage or in front of the camera, he is adamant that it all starts with the collaborative process, built on respect and camaraderie between cast, crew, and director. This is where the real “magic” happens and is crucial to telling a great story.
